Description
trugs PICS builds reading fluency and vocabulary with picture card games that follow the trugs phonics stages. Every word is decodable at its stage, and the photos help learners understand what they read, including those for whom English is an additional language.
What is in PICS 1, 2 and 3
All 12 decks for Stages 1 to 15, each with 36 picture and word cards, grouped into categories such as the house, the garden, the bedroom and countries, plus category cards.
- PICS 1: Stages 1, 2, 3 and 4/5, words such as dog, clap, pond and starfish
- PICS 2: Stages 6, 7, 8 and 9/10, words such as perfume, peacock, flowers and windowsill
- PICS 3: Stages 11, 12, 13/14 and 14/15, words such as centipede, ginger, pineapple and pomegranates
Five games with every deck
Collect it (pics), Collect it (words), Pair it, Group it and Pass it, for 2 to 8 players. The rules are printed at the back of each deck’s PDF.
How to print, cut and play
- Print onto thick card. We use 275 gsm, stiff enough to shuffle and deal.
- Cut the cards out along the crop marks with a paper trimmer, so they are all the same size.
- Keep each stage’s deck together with a band and store them in a box.
Your license: school use
