Week 2 of our Read Successfully summer program! This week is all about nurturing creativity and self-expression through “Journaling and Storytelling.” Dyslexic individuals often have vibrant imaginations and storytelling abilities, and we want to harness that potential.
In this blog, we’ll encourage your child/student to keep a summer journal to write or dictate their experiences, thoughts, and stories. You, as a parent or tutor, can assist with writing or transcribing their oral storytelling, allowing them to focus on their ideas and creativity. This activity not only improves writing skills but also boosts confidence and empowers them to tell their stories confidently.
Remember, the Read Successfully summer program is all about making the holidays enjoyable and educational for your child/student. Tailor the activities to their interests and strengths, and create a supportive and non-judgmental environment. Together, let’s empower young readers to flourish despite literacy difficulties!
